Description
The gladiolus is the birth flower of August and symbolises generosity, strength and sincerity.
This pretty stem is stitched by Sarah using freehand machine embroidery, a technique also known as drawing with thread. The design is created by moving the fabric (positioned in a hoop) freely underneath the needle of her domestic machine. This creates a unique piece of stitched art.
Feather stitch is used to attach a second piece of linen to the reverse giving a heavier weight of fabric as well as producing a decorative border. The bookmarks are finished with a narrow frayed edge.
Measurements approx. 10 x 20 cm.
Your bookmark will be beautifully wrapped in tissue paper and posted in a hard-board envelope.
The perfect gift for a lover of books and botanicals.
