Christmas Card Workshop – Friday 11th October

Description

Within this Christmas card workshop you’ll spend a morning creating a lovely collection of festive cards, all freehand machine embroidered!

You will be creating designs using tiny pieces of fabric which you’ll then appliqué, freehand, directly onto a card blank. It’s a wonderful way of using up all those tiny fabric scraps you can’t bear to throw away!

There is no need to have had previous experience of sewing freehand, Sarah will start with a demonstration and give you lots of tips before you then practise onto some calico. At this point we will make sure that your tension is correct and your machine is running smoothly. You’ll receive lots of helpful tips covering all aspects of freehand machine embroidery and any problems will be rectified.

There’ll be a range of designs available to you for inspiration as well as a large choice of fabrics for you to freely use. Templates can be provided, or Sarah can cut your fabric shapes for you so there is no need to worry if you don’t feel confident in creating a design yourself. If you have an special pieces of fabric you’d like to use, feel free to bring them along.

Please bring your own sewing machine and make sure that you are able to lower the feed dog – this enables you to sew freehand. If you do require a machine there may be a machine available to loan – please ask when you book. Thread, fabric, notecards and envelopes will all be provided, simply bring along an embroidery foot and load up your bobbins with white thread!

All Sarah’s workshops are fun and relaxed and shared with what is always a lovely group of like minded creative people. Quite often ideas, projects and new techniques are shared so that everyone, including Sarah, feels like they’ve had a very full and enjoyable creative session!

If, due to unforeseen circumstances Sarah has to cancel this workshop then a new date will be issued and you may either transfer your booking or if you prefer, a refund will be issued. Should you need to cancel your booking unfortunately refunds cannot be issued unless discussed directly with Sarah.
